For this week's episode, our host Darren asks his fellow mulls to discuss one of his favourite forms of animation and film-making - the art of stop motion.
Whether it's the amazing moments that bring giant gorillas, huge AT-ATs or fighting skeletons to life in classic live-action movies; or the entire worlds created by directors like Henry Selick, Guillermo del Toro, and Nick Parks, they talk about their favourite examples of the form and try to unpick what it is about this style of movie-making that has captivated audiences for so long.
Listen in and then let us know your own favourites.

Hero or Villain?

Sunday Sep 01, 2024

Sunday Sep 01, 2024

"You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain..." as Aaron Ekhart once said.  For this week's episode, our host Richard has asked us to think about cinema's great heroes and villains - in particular, actors who have proven they are equally adept at playing both ends of the moral spectrum, or otherwise actors who are famous only for their heroic or villainous turns...
Listen in and then let us know your favourite hero or villain actors, or tell us an actor who is famous for their heroic roles that you'd love to see embrace their darker side!

Sunday Aug 18, 2024

Sunday Aug 18, 2024

For this week's episode, our host Neil wanted us to discuss whether 'when' you watched a movie matters. Are there movies you watched and loved in the past, that wouldn't hold up if you watched them today? Films that you feel a real nostalgia for, but that you might hesitate to recommend to others...
Let us know in the comments: what films do you love that you think might not hold up for today's audience?
